Theme features
- The Article Directory theme is intended to work with WordPress 2.9 – 3.0.4.
- Statistics on the total number of published articles and the number of registered authors.
- The home page displays a list of the most recent articles. By default it’s a 30 titles. The number can be changed in the template file index.php.
- Each author has a page with info about him and list of his articles. Info about the author is also displaying on a single article page.
- Breadcrumbs on the archives by date, author archives, categories and search results pages.
- The category page displays a list of subcategories (or sibling subcategories) and list of this category articles.
- The possibility of sorting a list of articles on the current category (title, newest, oldest). A similar possibility exists on the author page.
- Single article page contains a list of other articles from the same category.
- Pagination without a plugin.
- List of top authors.
- Widgets support.
- Localization support.
Attention! The Article Directory plugin is obligatory for working the article directory at full capacity .

How can I have the outside background (grey stripes) and the border like on this site? How to add a logo in the header before the site title? How can I change the width of the sidebars? How to place a banner in header? Etc.

I have installed your theme "Article Directory", but I don't see the "Register" link on my site.
You need to activate the "Membership (Anyone can register)" option on the "General Settings" page of admin area.
Is there a simple way to quickly add the categories (instead of adding it one by one)?
Yes. You can use the Post Corrector plugin for this.

What should I enter in the "ID of author panel page" in the plugin options? What should that look like?

Go to the "Pages" in admin menu. Hover the mouse cursor on the title of the author panel page you have created. Now look at the status bar of your browser. You'll see something like this:
The number after
post=is the ID of author panel page. Is there a way let users edit their posts not in WordPress admin area?
Sorry, but that's not possible.
How do I allow authors to upload images?
Unfortunately, it's impossible in the author panel. But they can upload an image on the free image hosting (for example imageshack.us) and then paste a link on it.

Ok i have got a quick question guys. I am able to move the search button down in to the Top menu bar. But once i move it into there,its impossible to type into the search box to search. Can someone please advice where i need to adjust after adjusting the search box into the top menu bar to make it clickable again.

Here is what i have been up to on my site about a week old Dimox. I have found a way round the search box and header,it took me a while but got around it. I changed the Recent posts to display excerpts, changed colour.. Im quite happy for a guy that knows absolutely nothing about coding, you have made a Theme and Plugin that is quite easy to manage.. A quick question on the sidebar.php
Although my site works well on this theme, but I never activiate the following stuff in sidebar from day1 I use this theme, as introduced in the theme’s sidebar.php;
1. Recent Articles; 2. RSS; 3. Archive by Month; 4. blogroll
I add other widgets to get those stuff done!
I thought the dynamic sidebar is activated right, but sth got be wrong. I upgraded from 2.92 and now I am using WP 3.0;

HI Dimox.. I need some help and advice please. I noticed something on the Template that when you click on the Author’s name in a post, it takes you to the Authors page.But that only works if the author has the same name as the alias for example Author name: John Smith UserID: Johnsmith, or Author name: Linda Carol Userid: lindacarol
If the user id is not the same as the name it says not found as in Linda Carol as authors name and user id maybe LindaC..
Is there a way to change the code so that it searches for the author by name and not be User ID pls?

Try clicking the Author’s name, it says not found. This is because it is searching for author USer ID. If there is a way to search for Author names instead of user ID in code i think it will fix problem, im not sure how to do it as i dont know php :(
But from what i noticed, the Author’s name links point to the Authors user id and not name.

Horst, for translating the plugin use article-directory.pot file, which is in plugin’s folder.
For translating the theme just translate text in all php files in theme folder.

Firstly, cracking theme and plugins.
Secondly, I havent set up sub categories in each individual category. Is there anyway that I can remove the “No Categories” message under each category? Or do I at least have to add 1 sub-category to do this?
