Article Directory WordPress Theme
Represent your attention special Article Directory theme for using with my Article Directory plugin.
Worth noting that the ideological inspirer for realization article directory on WordPress engine is the ArticleDashBoard.com. Therefore, while creating Article Directory theme I was orientated to this directory.
Features
- Statistics on the total number of published articles and the number of registered authors.
- Each author has a page with his profile and list of his articles.
- The home page displays a list of the most recent articles. By default, 30 titles. The numbers can be changed in the template file index.php.
- Lists of “pages” are available at two locations in header of page. To mutual exclusion repeated pages you must find in two places of the header.php file the code like this:
<?php wp_list_pages('title_li=&include=2,3'); ?>and specify in the include option comma-separated list identifiers pages you wish to include into the list.
- On the categories pages displayed so-called “bread crumbs.”
- The category page displays a list of subcategories and list of this category articles. That pages don’t contain articles from subcategories. Such articles are displayed on the subcategories pages.
- The possibility of sorting a list of articles on the current category (title, newest, oldest). A similar possibility exists on the author page.
- A page of a particular article contains a list of other articles from the same category.
- The Article Directory theme is intended to work with WordPress version 2.3+. Working with earlier versions is not assured.

For working the article directory at full capacity the following plugins are obligatory:
- Article Directory – plugin, that displays the structured list of categories.
- Role Manager – allows you to define and manage multiple subscriber profiles – called Roles and their Capabilities.

I have installed your theme “Article Directory”, but I don’t see the “Register” link on my site.

You need to activate the “Membership (Anyone can register)” option on the “General Settings” page of admin area.

When I make a page it does not show up in the menu where the “Home” link is located.

I am having one small problem which is probably just me being stupid. I have submitted a test article and when I click the link on the author name it doesn’t go to the author’s profile but instead go’s to the blog’s home page.

how can i change index.php to show only the number of authors (people how write articles) not all subscribers. subscribers do not have permission to send articles on my site.

Most likely, it is impossible to do so.

I used your theme and category plugin to be my wordpress powered lyrics site and you can found it at http://www.eilyrics.com.
However, there are a lot I am thinking to change. I do some editing on some codes (which I am not good at and my head is aching) and I think still needs of some customization. Let me know what you can do or suggest to give on.

I’d love to use this on another site but would like to have my logo instead of the text pulled from page title in wordpress settings. I’m new to this coding and can’t find where I would put my logo, and don’t know what dimensions to resize the logo to.
Can I just put the code in the wordpress settings like <img scr=”… or can you tell me how to revise the code (and where?)? Thanks!

i want to have it so the parent categories show maybe 5 child catgegories on the main page. i have categories setup to be in main child and subchild and some even in subchildcat. i just want to have those subchildcat hidden.

New author cannot post pictures. The media uploader buttons are not there when making a post. I use wp 2.6.3 for this site that uses your plugin and theme.
The buttons are there for me as admin, no problem there. Just as author..
I have checked other wordpress sites of mine that are using wp ver 2.6 and the media uploader is there for the author. So i am not sure what to do.

I specially hid it. If you want to restore it, find following row in article-directory.php and remove it:
#media-buttons {display: none !important}
How can you put your logo on this theme, I dont know how.
I am having the same problem as Laura above no Register buttons. I am using the latest version of Wordpress. Installed it today.

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /articles/wp-admin/post.php could not be found on this server.
but those pages are in my directory.
