Benefits of online education
Some time ago, online education was not considered valuable at all by most of the people. But now it is universally recognized as a tremendous way of education.
Online education was started in 1990’s but at that time all the universities and institutes offering online education were considered money making institutes rather than proper educational entities. With the passage of time opinions changed, and many well ranked universities started online degree programs, in order to provide distant learning to remote students who were not able to attend regular classes because of some reason.
The main plus point of getting online education is that there is no need for a student to be present at a specific location to attend the class or to get education thus saving a lot of time and energy of the student. Similarly, mature students or on job students can easily get online education without any hesitation and any sacrifice to their jobs.
Most of the the people don’t even know how online classes are being arranged and how online lectures are being delivered. Although there are many similarities between an online class room and the class rooms of a traditional university but there are several prominent differences. For example, if a student attends a conventional class room, first thing is that he has to be there at a specified time and he has to give ear to the certain course within a limited time period that will be obviously last for one to three hours on average. The instructor of the course will likely harangue for the majority of this time, but there would be a limited student involvement as well. At the end of the lecture, the instructor may assign homework or task. Whereas, in an online classroom the formation is much different, and there is a greater degree of flexibility in the lesson plans. One can log into his virtual class room at any time and from any location and listen, read and watch videos according to his course outline which means he can attend class at any time from any location. This way he can attend lectures as many times he wants. But in online education system, a student needs to be more responsible as he doesn’t have any face to face meeting with the teacher or instructor although he can communicate with the teacher via email or chat.
Hence it is obvious that if a student shows a little bit of responsibility and avoid chupan chupai (a game mostly played in sub continent and is similar to hide and seek) with the teachers, then online education system would be clearly better for him than traditional education system.
