Chaps turn heads by being on-trend at the beach
Summer is here and the sun is out! Well, with a bit of luck it soon will be and with it a hot summer offering many opportunities to get to the beach and have some fun. But, before you head for the coast make sure that you are fully equipped to turn heads and enjoy your day.
Believe it or not, you can buy pink thong swimwear for men this season. It’s a brave man who steps out in those, especially if he’s with his mates, but for more sensible and stylish attire, buy patterned long swim shorts for the beach instead. Whether the pattern is on-trend stars or floral or block colours the rule is go bright! You may even want to go the extra mile and get a pair of authentic Hawaiian shorts, complete with palm tree design; they will make a statement!
Keep the sun off your head with some sophisticated headwear. Long gone are the days of the baseball cap or trucker cap worn backwards, make sure its worn the right way round…leave it to the old man to turn it round and ‘look cool’. But, more tuned-in chaps will be wearing an open weave straw trilby, a touch of the educated college look on the sand, or something similar such as a straw cowboy hat that is also predicted to be popular this year; at home and abroad.
The essential summer accessory — a pair of cool shades – is available in many styles this year; gun metal frame sunglasses, or blue or orange retro glasses will all draw admiring looks; or for the classic style go the whole hog and adopt the retro classic aviator look.
When it gets all too hot, ditch the sleeves and show off your biceps with plain coloured rib vests: white, black or coloured are all part of this year’s beachwear look. Or if you want to stick with short-sleeves, the traditional polo shirt is available in bright colours, as are traditional tees, again with bright designs and prints.
When it comes to footwear this year sees a lot more choice than just flip-flops, although they are still essentials so make sure they are packed for a day or break at the beach. You might also want to include a pair of bright cross-strap sandals but make sure you don’t wear them with white socks!
To ensure you can lie on the sand in comfort and style make sure you pack a nice big, bright beach towel. One that’s big enough to cover your essentials should you wish to slip in or out of your swimwear, and also long enough to ensure you can lie on it without overhanging at either end!
And lastly, you’ll need something in which to put all your accessories and essentials; it all needs to go in a handy bag, so why not throw it all into a handy canvass holdall with long strap?. You’ll easily get everything in, thus leaving your other hand free to carry the other essential of the summer – a cool box!
