How to Replace Asphalt Shingles for your Roof
Asphalt roofs are the most common form of roofing materials that been used in homes. This is one reason why we come across more frequent asphalt roofing problems. But replacing asphalt shingles are not very difficult task, and any individual can rectify it. Let’s go through step-by-step procedure of fixing asphalt shingles.
Step 1: Inspect your Roof:
One can inspect the roof at regular interval to check for any defects, missing tile or loose tiles. This should be done at a regular interval, atleast twice per year. This si definitely should be done after any major storm. If one finds any of the faults mentioned above, one should immediately take step to rectify it.
Step 2: Gather Necessary Supply
To get the appropriate material for your roof, one should take the different sample of the roof to a lumberstore. One should also have extension ladder, hammer, putty knofe, roof cement, and pry bar.
Step 3: Replace the Asphalt Titles
While replacing the new tile, one should first drawback the tiles just near the damaged tiles. Then one needs to remove all the nails from the old tiles and clear the region. Sometimes it happens that damaged region need to clear properly to make it dry & and other infections. Also, the old nail can prevent the proper installation of new tiles. One the nails been removed and the region got cleared, the new tiles can placed & nailed back in place. Lastly, the drawn old tiles near damaged tiles are put in place.
If the roofs are curled, one do not need replace the old tiles. One just need to clean the region and hammer back the old tiles to its original place. One can also nailed it down so that it does not curl back. But one should definitely try to check and remove the debris before coming down. This remaining debris can lead to dampening of the roof & further damage it.
By regularly inspecting & replacing damaged tiles can prevent further damages and also prolonged the life of the roofs.
