Promote Your Property with a Personal Loan
There are many reasons for selling your property; perhaps you are planning to move to another area, are downsizing or indeed upgrading as you simply need more space. Whatever the reasons for putting your property on the market, you want to make it sure it looks its best when potential buyers come to visit.
Whilst there isn’t one failsafe action that will ensure you sell your property, there are a number of factors you can implement in order to make the process as pain free as possible. The first part of the action plan is an exercise which won’t cost you a penny and might even generate some cash: a good old fashioned spring clean.
De-cluttering is an effective way to enable potential buyers to visualise themselves living in your house, so pack up and stow away items that aren’t necessary for day-to-day living. Buyers will also want to see the capacity of storage cupboards, therefore don’t cram these full and consider putting large pieces of furniture into storage so they don’t dominate the room they reside in. Furthermore, any unwanted bits and bobs could be auctioned off thereby making you money in the meantime.
Neutrality is another relatively easy theme you can integrate throughout your house with a few tins of magnolia paint and some willpower. You may love your aubergine coloured kitchen walls and the amazonian green bathroom but rest assured not all prospective purchasers will. You may not be smitten with neutral colours but this is proven to be an effective way to create a blank canvas for the new homeowner to stamp their mark on.
If you’ve went to the effort of painting a neutral picture for buyers then you must make sure fixtures and fittings are in tip top condition. Cabinet doors hanging off their hinges and unfinished home improvements are guaranteed to drive away the very people you want to attract, so get your toolkit out and make sure no job is left unfinished. Kitchens and bathrooms are of particular importance, and DIY that can be done to improve these rooms will greatly increase your chances of making a sale.
You may have been taught never to judge a book by its cover but this is one rule that definitely cannot be applied to house selling. First impressions count so whatever you do, make sure the exterior of your property is ship shape and don’t ward off viewers before they have even stepped foot inside. Make sure all gates and doors are hanging properly, repaint anything that is chipped or worn and get busy in the garden.
All of the above will require time and money and a spot of hard work. And, with time and effort you can organise yourself but if pennies are scarce, you may want to consider personal loans as a means of enabling home improvements, which will in turn earn you more money in the long-term.
