It all started in 2000 when creator and owner Rupee Lota noticed the huge trend in fashion e-commerce. Born in India, Rupee draws inspiration from the colors and beauty of the culture she grew up in. Upon moving to the United States as a child, Rupee always maintained ties to her heritage by surrounding herself in the kind of pieces she would see her mother and every day women wear on the streets of India. Armed with this aesthetic passion and online business savvy, Rupee decided to start her own site and Bombay Fashions was born.
