Bespoke Beds for Children Make Bedtime Fun Time!
Most British adults probably remember their childhood bed. It was a practical item, rather than a place to promote restful sleep – an angular arrangement of poles and girders, chosen for strength and easy clean attributes rather than for any aesthetic or comfort giving qualities. Indeed, it is a measure of the paucity of good children’s beds in the United Kingdom that most adults, when they get their first adult bed, are stunned by how comfortable it is. The beds for children that we had to put up with in our youth were basically designed to be attacked until they broke, rather than to promote a restful night’s sleep.
This doesn’t have to be the case. A lot of beds you can get for children these days are still boring and still less about comfort or stimulation than about withstanding the onslaught of playing bodies. However, a whole new type of child’s bed – the bespoke child’s bed, made from real quality materials and designed to look and feel great – has been coming onto the market in the last couple of years. These are beds for children that actually promote comfort and good sleep – not to mention making that final brilliant touch to a personalised child’s bedroom.
Children’s beds, when you think about it, should really be the centre piece of a child’s room. Kids spend a lot of time in bed, more than most adults – and yet their beds are the one boring thing in a world that is otherwise full of colour and stimulation. No wonder they hate them so! Beds for children should be as vibrant and stimulating as designed to get the interest and the grey matter going, as all the rest of the stuff in their rooms. If a child is into jungle animals, why not extend the wall paper and curtains them to the bed? Having bespoke children’s beds made means you can get a bed in the shape of and coloured like, anything at all: a tree house, a jungle camp or just a wildlife scene. Whatever your child really loves, that can be reflected in the bed he or she is given to sleep in – and who knows, that might actually make him or her more inclined to go sleep in it.
The reason most children hate going to bed is because beds for children do not engage them in any way. All their toys and books are built to make them interested in the world: their children’s beds are just meant for sleeping in and being easy to clean. Getting bespoke beds made means making beds that kids actively want to be in – because their colours and designs make their imaginations run wild, in the same way that all their books and toys do. These creative and inventive children’s beds don’t over stimulate or prevent a child from sleeping – quite the opposite. Your child will want to get in the bed because it keeps him or her interested – and once there, he or she will drift off surrounded by the shapes and colours they love.
