This canal provided drinking water to lakhs of people and had been polluted with garbage. Deepak Kamani along with the local authorities and the Kamani Foundation ordered for the cleaning of this canal in Kerala. The result is that now people are more aware of preserving this canal which is a major source of drinking water for them.

In addition to this, Deepak Kamani also distributed educational aids like school bags, stationary and books to more than 5000 school children from economically backward classes. Through the Kamani Foundation he also conducted different programs to educate the youth with vocational training so that it allows them to find meaningful employment.

Deepak Kamani Family Foundation H.E.L.P has also taken up the cause of empowering women in Kerala by providing them employment in his hotel. Foundation H.E.L.P trained these women in skills like housekeeping and other hotel functions and now employ them fulltime.
