When is it Time to Wash Your Jeans?

So you’ve had the same jeans on for, well you can’t quite remember, and yet you may still have plans on going to the pub or club with them on. While it’s not a question on most people’s minds on an average day it’s still an important one: just how often should you wash your jeans? The answer lies in your personality traits; have a look below and see where you (or someone you know) fit in.

The ‘devil may care’ type – This type of person really couldn’t care less when he last washed his jeans. There may be splashes of chilli sauce from last week’s late-night kebab, but that just makes him more interesting, doesn’t it? He doesn’t care what other people think of him and he’ll get round to washing his jeans when he next goes round to his mum’s for Sunday lunch and she complains about the smell.

The ‘Monica from Friends’ type – A place for everything and everything in its place. This guy cares more about his appearance — and germs — than you could think. Anyone could have been sitting on that park bench or seat on the bus, so washing his jeans every day is an absolute must.

The ‘dirty but interesting’ type – This sort of person deliberately doesn’t wash his jeans for a couple of weeks at a time, probably because he’s in a band and it makes him look more weathered and a little bit mysterious. He’s probably got another few pairs at home, just worn to get the right look and then not washed for a while.

The ‘everyday man’ – It’s not at the top of his list of priorities but he knows a clean pair of jeans from a filthy pair and when each of these is suitable attire. Clean jeans for a date or night out and any old pair will do for lounging around the flat playing video games or watching TV.

The ‘environmentally aware’ – Thankfully this guy is keen to cut down on the power and water he uses so he washes his jeans roughly every week or just when they really need it. He knows his jeans are hard wearing and can handle a bit of action before needing refreshed.

The ‘fashionista’ – his clothes are an extension of everything he stands for. He’s well groomed, never seen with a hair out of place and has a confident strut when he walks. His look is pristine and his jeans are very much part of that so he wears them for a few hours at a time before changing into a different pair to suit his mood. Never wears the same pair more than twice without washing them.

So as you can see there is no set time limit before you should wash your jeans. Just decide for yourself and run with it; mens jeans are a versatile item of clothing that can handle many washes, no matter how frequent or infrequent they are!
