FAQ about Article Directory Theme and Plugin
How can I have the outside background (grey stripes) and the border like on this site? How to add a logo in the header before the site title? How can I change the width of the sidebars? How to place a banner in header? Etc.
Sorry, I can't help you with such a questions. Please read and study CSS manuals or find a freelancer that make this things for you.
I have installed your theme "Article Directory", but I don't see the "Register" link on my site.
You need to activate the "Membership (Anyone can register)" option on the "General Settings" page of admin area.
Is there a simple way to quickly add the categories (instead of adding it one by one)?
Yes. You can use the Post Corrector plugin for this.
Is there a version of Article Directory theme just for a regular blog?
Yes. You can get it here - ADSimple WordPress theme.
What should I enter in the "ID of author panel page" in the plugin options? What should that look like?
-
Go to the "Pages" in admin menu. Hover the mouse cursor on the title of the author panel page you have created. Now look at the status bar of your browser. You'll see something like this:

The number after
post=is the ID of author panel page. Is there a way let users edit their posts not in WordPress admin area?
Sorry, but that's not possible.

Unfortunately, it's impossible in the author panel. But they can upload an image on the free image hosting (for example imageshack.us) and then paste a link on it.

Hi, Great theme and plugin. I am just having some problems with the author page. I have both the theme and plugin installed but when you try to log in using the Authorisation panel the home page just re-loads. If you login using the wp-login page you get taken to the Author page which is blank. I created the page as blank and set the author-panel as the template. I have put the ID in the plugin settings as well.
Do you have any idea why these things are happening and what I can do to fix it please?
All the best,
Michael
Hello Michael.
I have went to your site and have registered, but another interesting thing I noticed is after I logged in, the site actually went to the Author Page but I wasn’t logged in. I’m not a trouble shooter of this theme but I would simple delete it from my server and then reload the theme and then the plugin. Then don’t forget to put in the ID again.
Good Luck
Hi, Thanks for the reply. I completely wiped everything and started again and it seems to have installed perfectly. Thanks for the help.
Michael
You are quite welcome Michael. I am just happy that it works.
If you are a PHP programer or know of any plugin that will redirect the logout to the home page, please let me know. I have modified my logout screen from my site but would really like the logout to be redirected.
I am not sufficient in PHP so I don’t understand some of the other tutorials on WordPress and they seem limited.

Been trying to figure this out but can’t get it to work, sorry.
hi
How to i will sort by category for my choice?
Gazeteler, I am not sure what your asking here.
If you are looking something to sort the order of your categories, you may try this Plugin.
My Category Order at this location: http://geekyweekly.com/mycategoryorder
Hope this helps
I have downloaded both the theme and the plugin, so I don’t know what the problem is. I have spent my entire morning hitting everything I can to try and make things work and I got nothin’.
I can’t seem to make a registration and/or login page come up. I don’t know what’s wrong. I also don’t have all those snazzy columns and such. I have one big place to put one thing. I tried to add a page with the login and registration, but I’m pretty sure that’s not normal. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing and it doesn’t make any difference.
Suggestions would be appreciated.
Hello Amy. I just checked and it seems that you have gotten what you needed on you site.
Is that correct?
Sincerely

Was helping a friend. Installed Article Directory theme and the plugin. But getting – “Warning: preg_split() expects parameter 2 to be string, object given in C:\inetpub\vhosts\xxxxxx.com\httpdocs\wp-includes\formatting.php on line 34″ in the header area beside the site’s name.
Please advice to solve this weird problem. Thanks in advance.
Hello,
I want to start by thanking you for the theme and plugin. I just installed the theme and plugin and everything seems to work fine except when you sign up as a user, it says you have no authority but lets you click on the author panel link. It this normal? I don’t want to lose new sign ups due to confusion.

Tim.
If I remember right, you need to go to your Admin Panel: Settings: Article Directory.
From there I believe you need to enter the ID of the Author Panel Page.
Hope this helps
Does anyone know this one.
Why is it that I can view my admin posts but when someone else posts an article, the page does not show when clicked on.
I have uninstalled the theme and used the default WordPress theme and it works fine, but when I reinstall the theme, the publishers post goes blank.
Problem Solved.
